We have teamed up with Berni B: Art & Glass from Llanwrtyd Wells to offer Stained Glass Art Retreats based from Llanerchindda.
We will be running 2 retreats in 2024/25 on the following dates:
- Monday 25th to Thursday 29th November 2024 (Copper Foiling)
- Monday 17th to Thursday 20th February 2025 (Leading)
- Other Dates can be arranged by request (minimum 4 people)
The Itinerary for the retreat is as follows:
Monday
- Arrive from 4pm
- Afternoon Tea & chance to meet other participants from 4.30pm
- 3 Course Evening Meal 7.30pm
Tuesday
- Breakfast from 8am to 9am
- Stained Glass Workshop Day 1 10am to 4pm to include:
- Safety First
- What are the Tools & How to Use Them
- Practice (keep pieces for day 2)
- Copper Foiling and leading, how they differ in techniques and planning
- Tea & Coffee Break 11.30am
- About the glass – different types and things to be aware of
- Creating our designs, making our cutting patterns
- Choosing our glass
- Light Lunch from 1pm
- Cutting our pattern
- Afternoon Tea 4 pm
- 3 Course Evening Meal 7.30pm
Wednesday
- Breakfast from 8am to 9am
- Stained Glass Workshop Day 2 10am to 4pm to include:
- Finish Cutting
- Learning to use the grinder
- Tea & Coffee Break 11.30am
- Learning to copper foil or lead
- Copper foiling or leading
- Light Lunch from 1pm
- More copper foiling or leading
- Learn to use the soldering irons – risks and practice
- Soldering or Cementing
- Clearing up / group photos / feedback forms
- Afternoon Tea 4 pm
- 3 Course Evening Meal 7.30pm
Thursday
- Breakfast from 8am to 9am
- Depart after breakfast
Other Course Information:
- Total of 12 hours of workshop over 2 days
- Bring older clothes / aprons (something you are not worried if it gets dirty or a hole in it!)
- All materials and equipment provided.
- You get to take home whatever you make.
Costs:
- £480.00 per person for dinner, bed, breakfast, Morning Coffee, Lunch, Afternoon Tea and 2 days stained glass workshop
- £230.00 per person for non residents for Morning Coffee, Lunch, Afternoon Tea and 2 days stained glass workshop
- For anyone wishing to join their partner but not take part in the workshop the cost for 3 nights dinner, bed and breakfast is £258.00
